This event has now passed. You can read about it here!

We’ve teamed up with The Silver Bullet to run a quarterly event, bringing the Cultured Sounds family together for some exclusive performances. Cultured Sounds Live will feature music from the label (past, present & future), as well as showcasing music from artists we’re working with. Expect a warm vibe as we bring you an experience in world music and hip hop fusion.

Kicking the night off we have Opus Dice on the decks, followed by a Hybrid Freqs set previewing their forthcoming beat-tape. The live performances will be hosted by MC Efex and St. Jude, who will run an open-mic cypher towards the end – all welcome.

The brotherly duo aka Phoenix Da Icefire and Blackk Chronical have combined to create a joint project and live performance. They’ve supported the likes of Big Daddy Kane and Dead Prez whilst playing shows across the country and Europe, honing their skills on stage and performing with great chemistry – both artists have releases on the label later this year, but we’re happy to welcome them for an exclusive Solar Blackk Chronical performance on our first night.

Manchester native Fabz has steadily been building a buzz from his first two EPs, Lost and Grown (2014-5), work with Room2 Records and viral videos circulating the net. 2016 promises to be another big year for him with an album on the way as well as forthcoming tracks on Cultured Sounds and our sister label 4D Presents.

Latin funk aficionado Mike Kalle also has a big year in store with album and EP releases both on Cultured Sounds! Mike’s Columbian heritage and English upbringing have led to an unmistakable Spanglish flow on Latin-infused Hip-Hop – a combination of Salsa, Jazz and Poetry. The Street Souls founder will provide an exclusive set, touching on both his Morfius produced album and Hybrid Freqs EP collaboration.

**WATUSI 87** [RU1-FAM]
We welcome RU1-FAM member Watusi87 for a premiere performance of his forthcoming EP with Hybrid Freqs. Musically uplifting and positive at all times, Watusi brings a magnetic charisma to his songs that get you moving – the EP he’s been creating is a snapshot of his style as an artist, it’s all about THE FLAAVA!

The Iron Chancellor has been tearing up stages since the release of his Verse Murder mixtape – lighting up a selection of DJ Premier beats, memorably on stage at Silver Bullet’s December Slam Jam event! Known for the signature growl to his vocal tone, Flow’s natural attraction to Boom Bap is evident on previous releases, but he’s explored a wider and more varied sound on his upcoming EP.

Musical explorer and poet Oracy is set to bless the stage with a performance of her Foot In The Door album (Cultured Sounds, June 15). She’s been showcasing the music live up and down the country, notably winning the open mic competition at last year’s Boom Bap Festival, whilst gaining bookings in France and Italy. Hard copies will be available on the night!

We’re building an ongoing partnership with DL to release a number of singles throughout the year and he’ll be taking us through the first few. The actor/artist has a certain presence on the mic that draws you into his thoughts and emotions, and he’s linked with our in-house producers to create a series of one-off thought-provoking pieces with visuals. Keep a look out for the first single Into The Light, dropping soon.

Following the live performances, MC Efex and St. Jude will be hosting the cypher with Opus Dice & C Tek on the decks throwing down classics. If you got bars, get yourself down.. (and hit us up at least a week before for free entry blessings)

We’re excited to share so much fresh music with you, and hope to connect with the extended fam. Bring your peeps down for a vibe, bring your mate who raps, musicians and creatives – It’s all love…

…and Peace
