Cultured Sounds are back to celebrate Black History Month with a special lineup. In keeping with our ethos of promoting eclectic conscious music and roots culture, we bring you UPENDO MUZIKI “Love Music”.

The Star of Kings have welcomed us back for another intimate show, and we’re ready to test out their Funktion-One system with a strong dose of Bass and Positive Energy!! Entry is just £5 on the door for all this quality music….

DJ SNUFF

A legendary member of the universal Hip-Hop and Roots community, Snuff has been involved in live music since the days of Deal Real, Speakers Corner & Itch FM. Highly respected as a founding member of People’s Army and Caxton Press, as well as an active supporter of grass roots community projects worldwide, Snuff’s DJ sets dig out Hip-Hop’s diasporic roots through Universal Hip-Hop B-Boy Funk & Roots Junglist Bass Culture.

We’re happy to have Snuff representing at our celebration of Music and Black History Month with an African Music set… an uplifting experience is guaranteed!!

RAGGO ZULU REBEL

Raggo Zulu Rebel is a Hip-Hop artist who seamlessly combines British and Jamaican culture. A veteran of the London scene, Zulu Rebel has performed at countless events and is sure to have you echoing his words through call and response. Audience participation is strongly recommended!

POSITIVE VIBES CREW

The Positive Vibes Crew is a 3 man DJ / Vocalist collective who mix and blend the genres to create a unique dance experience that encompasses Reggae, Dub, Roots and Dancehall. With international appearances under their belt, and a dynamic, charismatic stage presence, we’re very excited to welcome the crew to headline the show.

SOAS WEST AFRICAN DRUMMING SOCIETY

With a passion for West African drumming, this group of young drummers bring an intensity that translates to a command to dance… So after realising at our last event how well ventilated the Star of Kings basement is, we felt it was only right to bring a 5-strong group from the SOAS society to raise the temperature.

DJ SURAJ

Suraj has travelled from Kenya to be part of the London music scene, and will be warming the night up with his modern take on African music, blending Afrohouse with South African Kwaito music!!

We hope you can join us to celebrate Black History Month with another diverse evening of Music and Culture!

Peace

(and a special thank you to Goldie for letting us use his artwork as part of the flyer!!)
